National Cotton Candy Day is celebrated today, December 7, 2020 to our sweet tooth’s joy and our dentists’ dismay. As we all know, Cotton Candy is a popular summertime treat. That being the case, why do we celebrate this day in the middle of December? Good question.

Did you know dentists actually invented it in the first place? Cotton Candy was originally called fairy floss because it is made from Floss (or Flossine) sugar, almost 100 percent sugar.  Most of our childhood memories wouldn’t have been complete without the sugary cloud that is cotton candy.

The natural color of cotton candy is white, but it can be changed with the help of food coloring. Cotton candy can also be flavored. The largest manufacturer of cotton candy in the United States is Tootsie Roll Industries.

To celebrate National Cotton Candy Day, I thought it would be fun to get creative and make a Cotton Candy card. I used some current Stampin’ Up Product as well as a sneak peak of a really great new Suite in the Spring Catalogue 2021, Ice Cream Corner.

Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper has 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. Some images can be cut out using the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch. The Sweet Ice Cream Bundle has the stamp set Sweet Ice Cream and Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch where you save 10%.

Treat yourself to some kind cotton candy today, whether it be actual cotton candy, may be cotton candy ice cream. Whatever it is, I would love for you to comment and let us all know, did you go overboard and end up with a sugar rush?

Thinking about cotton candy at this time of year, especially this Heartwarming Hugs DSP reminds me of Peppermint Bark.
